Everything you want to know about Transcheck โ on one page.
A free online check with 50 yes/no questions for anyone wondering: am I trans? You get a personal result immediately on your screen. No account, no email, no costs.
No. No online test can make a diagnosis. Nor is there any biological or medical test from which you can deduce that. The Transcheck points out patterns in your answers and helps you consider whether other factors are at play.
Yes. You do not need to enter a name or email address. Your answers are not linked to any person. No one will call you later, and you will not receive any emails. What you answer remains between you and your screen.
For teenagers, young adults, and parents who want to reflect on identity questions โ before taking steps towards transition. Also for those who started earlier and are now wondering if it was really right.
Approximately 10 minutes. You answer 50 questions, one per screen, using Previous and Next. You can go back in between to modify an answer.
A personal outcome that matches your answer pattern, plus concrete lifestyle advice. That outcome appears directly on your screen after you have answered the last question โ not before. Therefore, you will not read what is coming elsewhere on this site; that would make the check less useful.
No. Your answers are not forwarded to a GP, school, parents, or a care provider. They are not linked to your name or email address. No profile is being built about you.
Yes. What is particularly useful then is to do it again when you look back in a few months or a year. If your answers are the same after a long period of sports, hobbies, and friends โ that says a lot. If they clearly shift, that says a lot too.
Not automatically. Your result provides advice on this itself โ in some cases, professional help is advisable (for underlying conditions such as depression, trauma, or an eating disorder), in other cases, it is not.
Important: a referral to a gender clinic in the Netherlands is often a one-way street. Caution is advised in this regard.
Let the child do the check themselves, without you looking over their shoulder. Afterwards, you can discuss the outcome, but without criticizing or seizing it. What helps for every child, regardless of the outcome: physical activity, real-life friends, less screen time, structure, and something to look forward to.
Not helpful: talking about it in a family WhatsApp, calling a psychologist "because you have to," or dismissing the check as a "counter-test."
The questions have been compiled based on what is known from developmental psychological research, the Cass Review, international guidelines that are stricter than the Dutch ones, and from conversations with detransitioners. The score is a guideline, not a scientifically validated instrument โ nor is it presented as such.
